My name is Ashley Murphy, and I teach Physical Education at Whitewright Elementary and 7th-grade Physical Education at the Junior High School. This is my 6th year teaching Physical Education. I am starting my 5^th year at Whitewright ISD. I am excited to be in Whitewright and a part of the Tiger Community.  

Within Physical Education, I strive to promote a physically active and nutritionally healthy lifestyle for our students.  I am passionate about introducing life-long activities that students enjoy and can do anywhere, whether at school or home.  Whether it's developing loco-motor skills, dance, gymnastics, or team and individual recreational sports, my goal is to have a well-rounded program where all students can discover something within fitness and exercise that they like participating in.

My first 4 years of teaching were in Cooper, TX, where I taught 7^th grade Life Science for 2 years and Physical education for 2 years. I was also the girls Head Basketball coach and Girls Athletic Coordinator

I enjoy spending time with my partner Patrick and our son Noah (10). Noah attends Whitewright elementary school and is in the 5^th grade. Patrick is a teacher and coach at Rains ISD. We have two dogs. Luna our German Shephard and Nezi our Great Pyranese/Australian Shephard mix.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy watching and attending sporting events. My family and I love to go fishing, camping, and trying new restaurants.
