Welcome to 1^st Grade!

I am Mrs. Starrett and I’m delighted to be teaching first grade at Whitewright Elementary. This is my 6th year as a Whitewright Tiger.  Previously, I taught 2^nd grade and was an Instructional Coach for K-5 in Mckinney at Burks Elementary.  Prior to that I taught a first and second grade multi-aged class at Jefferson Elementary in Sherman, Texas. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce. I am married to Steve. I have 3 young adult children; Laureen, Andrew, and Megan and I am very blessed with three grandchildren. They are Uriah, Titus, and Levi.  In my free time I like to travel, shop, go to the movies, kayak, hike, and camp. I hope to pass on my compasion to my students. I am thrilled to be teaching at Whitewright Elementary and want to bring my excitement to the classroom to inspire all my students to love learning!!
